Year: 1935-2021

Donated By: Lore Weschke Boyd

Janet Green, from Hackney, London, began her fashion career at 15,  working for a dressmaker. After moving to St Ives in 1956, she created knitted beachwear and eventually launched her own clothing business.

Her passion for knitting, sewing, and crafts inspired her signature nostalgic knitwear, even worn by Phil Collins on Top of the Pops. Jan’s meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail left a lasting impact on her daughter, Lore, who now reflects on her remarkable talent and dedication to her creations.
